How do I connect my own domain?

In the editor open Settings → Site → Domain, type your domain and press "Connect", then add the CNAME record it shows at your domain registrar.

Plans: Any paid plan. Not available during the trial.

Step by step

  1. Open your site in the editor and press the Settings cog, then the Site tab.
  2. Open Domain, type your domain under Connect a domain you own (for example www.yourname.com) and press Connect.
  3. Sign in to where your domain’s DNS is managed (GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare and so on), remove any old A, AAAA or CNAME record for that name, and add the CNAME record exactly as shown. If a TXT record is shown too, add that as well. On Cloudflare, set the CNAME to DNS only (the grey cloud).
  4. Connect the other form of the name too — yourname.com as well as www.yourname.com — so both work.
  5. Wait a few minutes, then press Check now. The status moves from Waiting for DNS to Issuing certificate to Live.

The secure certificate (the padlock) is issued automatically. Until the domain is live, your site stays on its Noddable address, so nothing goes down while you switch.

Once a domain is live it becomes your site’s address: your Noddable address and any other connected name redirect to it, so search engines see one site rather than several. The first name to go live is the one kept.

Your email is not affected. Leave MX, SPF and other email records exactly as they are.
